Position Summary
The Commercial Account Executive owns the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, qualifying, demoing, negotiating, and closing, for SSL.com’s PKI, digital certificate, and digital signature product lines. This is an independent, quota-carrying seat covering both new-logo acquisition and expansion of existing accounts, and requires enough technical depth to translate PKI and Certificate Authority concepts into solutions for security- and compliance-conscious buyers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process inbound inquiries by engaging with customers over chat, email, and phone to evangelize SSL.com products and help customers make a purchase decision.
- Take a consultative approach with customers: listen to the problems they’re trying to solve and gather requirements for a solution involving SSL.com’s products.
- Engage with the support team, sales management, and product teams on complex custom solution sales.
- Ensure timely customer renewals, customer retention, and account growth.
- Manage customer activities and data through the CRM.
- Drive sales through lead generation and by developing existing e-commerce customers.
- Become a subject matter expert on SSL.com’s products and services, and communicate them effectively.
- Demonstrate an ability to handle objections and customer issues in a positive manner.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in enterprise software, SaaS, cybersecurity, or technology sales, or equivalent experience in support, client services, fulfillment, or another customer-facing role at a technology company.
- Track record of meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals.
- Experience with sales automation, drip campaigns, and other advanced sales techniques.
- Proven ability to prospect, engage, and convert new customers, and to grow existing accounts.
- Able to independently manage the entire sales lifecycle, from prospecting through close and renewal.
- Strong technical acumen and remote communication skills, including web conferencing.
- Skilled at requirements gathering and at uncovering a prospect’s pain points to deliver a tailored technology solution.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Familiar with team productivity and collaboration tools such as Slack, Jira, Confluence, or Trello.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Digital Signature Services, cloud services, Certificate Authorities, or IAM / user access management.
- Cloud certification such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or equivalent.
- Familiarity with software engineering methodologies such as DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile.
- Cybersecurity certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Existing relationships with technology, cybersecurity, or software procurement decision-makers.
